El Dorado will be exhibited in the Backlight 2011 Photography Festival in Tampere, Finland.

The 9th international photo festival in Tampere will open the exhibitions in September 2011. Photographic Centre Nykyaika has organized the international triennial since 1987. The main co-organizer in 2011 is Tampere Art Museum. The theme of the Backlight 2011 Photo Festival is Migration and Nomadic Living in 21st Century. Theme in Backlight deals as concrete forms but also as metaphor for life and living in 21st century.

International specialists have nominated artistic positions and also individual artists have submitted their position directly to the organizer of Backlight 2011 Photo Festival. The main exhibitions will be seen in three spaces in Tampere (Finland) from 17th September 2011. The venues are: TR1 Kunsthalle, Tampere Art Museum, Mältinranta Art Centre. In the end of the Festival period, there will be one exhibition in Rajatila Gallery starting 29th October.

Chosen positions approach the motto in documentary style and with artistic concepts. Artworks together will create a visual intercultural dialogue in three sections as globalization, migration and nomads. The entity in TR1 Kunsthalle deals with alienation and exotic, corporative control and the power of ideology/art.

Beside of the TR1 exhibition Backlight 2011 will realize a project with over 20 young photoartists from Russia in Tampere Art Museum and a presentation with eight positions from Essen about migration and integration into the Ruhrgebiet between the 1960th and today.

Jorge Mónaco; Fotógrafo argentino homenajea a veteranos vietnamitas

Gran fotógrafo y mejor amigo Jorge Mónaco es director de la ENFO-Escuela Nacional de Fotografía en Buenos Aires. La razón de mi primer viaje a Buenos Aires fue  exponer mi trabajo El Círculo Solar su  escuela del barrio de  Palermo. Siguieron otros seis viajes en otros tantos años en los que Jorge siempre me ayudaba con la edición de Acostumbrados y hasta hicimos algún viaje juntos al "más allá". En este video se puede ver algo del proyecto en el que lleva años trabajando sobre los efectos del Napalm en la población vietnamita. Pequeño gran hombre Jorge.
