Bar "La Parra", in Lleida

This is just an idea of something I have been wanting to do for a long time. Often when working on location, I go to bars to have "menú del día" or just to have a drink while having a break. When I was using my Linhof it usually seemed to be such a hassle to takeout and mount the camera to obtain a photograph. But with my new digital camera its very straight forward.

I want to make a catalogue of those unique and distinctive places I visit. I already have a few but this one I took when on location photographing the new building bt Mecanoo Architecten.

The owner of the restaurant, a lady in her late 50s, came out of the kitchen and asked me why i was taken the picture. I explained my intention of making postcards with images taken in places like hers. She was rather surprised and puzzle, as she did not quite understand what I was after. However she suggested I should take pictures of the new dinning room, which she has just had re decorated. By seeing this picture, I am sure one could gather what the new decoration was like....

"White Nights", St Petersburg June 2009

En Junio de este año que termina viajé a San Petersburgo con mi amiga Carmeta Castellnou . Nunca había estado en Rusia ni en el Báltico y allí las noches blancas son tan bellas como las había leido. La ciudad no duerme y no se pone el sol. La fotografía está tomada desde el palacio de invierno, hoy el museo del Hermitage. Creo recordar que eran cerca de las 12 de la noche.
